Trying to pay for long-term care can be a challenge. Navigating the complex system of eligibility requirements can be frustrating. You can also apply for and renew your benefits from the comfort of your home using COMPASS, an online application for Pennsylvanians to apply for many health and human service programs including long-term care. You can also get help by calling the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ Helpline at 1-800-692-7462 for assistance with Medicaid eligibility determinations. The Medical Assistance Transportation Program, also known as MATP, provides transportation to medical appointments for Medical Assistance recipients who do not have transportation available to them. The individual’s county of residence will provide the type of transportation that is the least expensive while still meeting their needs.
